I have been having trouble with ANTS (Automatic Negative Thoughts) recently and looked up coping strategies. Thought I would share in case this might help someone else. Tell the thoughts to stop. Say it out loud if you want to. Remember to focus on the present. The past is gone. Let God take care of it. Love, Sheri

Oh course if we did not have the ANTS....we would not be challenged to learn to make them APTS...automatic positive thoughts...or actions. He really did design all things to work together. Even if we dont like some of the behavior, it makes us stronger in Him..Amen
I've heard someone suggest that you keep a rubber band around your wrist and snap it when you slip into negative thoughts. I haven't it tried it, but it sounds like an interesting psychological experiment.
Yes, I remember now. I used to write them down and then write down the opposite because most of them are lies. The ones that were true I put on my list to work on. I think the rubber band idea is a great one too. Thanks so much.
