no physical relationship because of fibromyalgia

my wife has fibromyalgia and artritius and therefore I can not get close to her physicially. I can not hold her, rub, caress or hug her without her hurting we can not sleep in the same bed because if I move she feels the vibration and it hurts her. She hurts if she sleeps in a position to long so she will move and moan in pain and that prevents me from reaching a deep sleep so in the morning I feel as if I did not sleep. She sleeps on the couch. we have not had any intimate relationship for 1.5 year. She has since moved out to her moms place and has agreed to a divorce so I can continue on in life. I am 50. I do not know what to do. Because of the lack of any intimatacy it effects how I feel. It gets bottled up and then I get angry.

You might want to visit her doctor with her and ask him about your concerns. If he can't help he might be able to refer you to a specialist and a pain management expert. My nutritionist treats fibromyalgia so you might check your area to see if you can find that service also. There are also support groups for fibromyalgia and arthritis so you might want to encourage your wife to get some help from them. You can check online to find them. I'm sad that you and your wife are having to go through all this emotional and physical pain. I'll pray for you. Remember Jesus loves you and He is with you during the storms of life.

I am sorry you both are enduring pain. I do not know what pain cures you have tried, but there are some different whole foods to try: like Yucca and fresh garlic. It is called the gift from the desert, it cleans and reduces inflammation. It contains saponins that are precursors of cortisone which is an anti inflammatory hormone naturally produced by the adrenal glands. It cleans the colon, and reduce the burden on other systems, like: kidney's, liver, lymph, and blood. It alkalizes the body as it cleans out waste acids. The next thing is MSM methyl sulfonyl methane organic sulfur. It is beneficial for immune problems, arthritis, skin, some mental functions. It is needed for cell membrane permeability, it is part of insulin. It increases circulation, reduces inflammation and helps the body resist toxins. The next thing is Probiotic's try ultimate flora super critical 200 billion cultures. It is bifidobacteria, which is in yougrt, but you would have to eat too many.Renew Life products call 800-830-1800 for complete information. You can and should take this if taking antibotics. And Aloe Vera juice...I like Catherines Choice. It is a wonderful product..for healing ulcers, digestion problems, arthritis, and also anti inflammatory. These are just a few...good luck.

I will mention the MSM. The yucca is that in pill form or you are talking about the vegatable its self?

The root itself, peeled and boiled in water or organic chicken broth. Add fresh garlic, carrots,onions...etc try to stay away from salt. The root is like a potatoe, but better. The same for Aloe Vera, try to get fresh made juice..like Catherine's Choice.

I am sorry to hear about that. Here, I am also a sufferer with fibro and went on this site since I am constantly alone since it is difficult for me to date and meet others. Sounds like pain is a big problem for your wife and would suggest for her to be on cymbalta. Its a anti-depressive medication but there is something in it that reduces fibro pain. It reduced mine to about 50%! Without it, I was on lots of pain medications. Also, have her try for pain ginger, rosemary or turmeric herbs. They help a lot and Valerian for the anxiety and 5htp is very good for the depression. I am out of 5HTP and what a difference it is for me, I am so depressed lately, I don't even want to leave the house. Any other recommendations for depression?

I am also a fibro sufferer. I read a book called "When Your Body Gets the Blues" After reading about Serotonin deficiency I started taking a very low dose Lexapro (it is a serotonic uptake med) and fish oil (about 6000 mg a day) and my symptoms did improve. I still have ocasional slight depression and occasional anxiety but my pain level has definitely decreased. Now if I could only do something about this darn fatigue. I will pray for you all. God's Blessings to You.

I would still talk to the doctor about the pain when you touch her and that you are both missing out on intimacy in your marriage. There may be lotions you could use or other types in intimacy you could try. Some dentists now offer things you can wear in your mouth to help with snoring. Maybe they would help her breathe better and make less sounds too. Keep searching. There are so many advances in medicine. There must be answers for you somewhere. May God bless you and keep you both.
