Rachel Joy, sorry you're having to go through this grief, but gald you are able to grieve. Grieving is a cleansing agent. "Sorrow endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Sometimes the night season lasts alot longer than we would like, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel when you are on God's side. It must be tough to watch your mom still living with him. I will pray for her, your sisters, and you. Keep going and growing. God Bless.

Thank you so much everyone for your warm welcome! My sisters and I were abused by my father years ago. Now we are all grown and out of the house, but dealing with the heavy aftermath. God has done some incredible healing in my heart, mind, and spirit through Christian therapists, but I grieve for my sisters who have recently faced some tough decisions (including legal ones). I grieve for my mother who still lives with my dad. I grieve for my family that is so broken.

Hi Charmaine, Yes, CR has a website. If you google celebrate recovery, you will find the national site, www.celebraterecovery.com, and from there, you can find a group that meets near you. It is a wonderful place, and for me it has become a special place, that no matter how hard my week has been, I am loved and accepted. It is the place where I have learned that Jesus weeps with and for me, and that He will truely heal me if I have the courage to hold His hand even through my valley of shadows.

You're very welcome, oneneedleshort. I wish I had a community like this one when I was going through my healing....however, it is wonderful that this exists and we can help each other through the tough times and celebrate the good times.
I have never heard of Celebrate Recovery!!! Can you tell me anything about it? Is there a website or anything

Hi Tam, thanks. How long have you been in CR? I just got my 30 day chip on Friday. I have always been afraid of large groups of people, and my husband went with me. He told me he was proud of me for being able to walk up in front of everyone to get my chip. I keep it in my pocket, and when i am having a hard time it is there to encourage me to keep on, even when it would seem to be easier to give up.
