I think there will always be more puzzles to our lives than can ever be answers, why does one soldier get killed but another soldier survives? Why does one small girl have cancer, and another one lives? Why does one small kid get raised in a wealt...

Can you see yourself from God's point of view? To have a healthy and truly realistic opinion of yourself, you must believe that you can do anything that God enables you to do. It is not about pride in oneself, but humility. Your self imag...
Hi, David,
You inspired me to read Proverbs again. I like my study bible because it has notes in the margin that explain things and gives useful information like historical background. There is a men's study bible also similar to this one. I may get one for my sons. Hope you are doing well. Love, Sheri
I agree with these others. You have a beautiful family. You mentioned the Catholic Church one time. I have some friends who are Catholic. I've heard they have some of the best pre-marital counseling around. If you and your girlfriend haven't worked out your issues, you might give them a try. Love and God bless, Sheri
Hey, you answered my post on the depression site a couple of months ago and I never thanked you. I don't get to things these days. I am still struggling. Sorry, but thanks for your comments.
Hi, David,
Well I guess I answered lots of your questions so you've probably heard enough of my opinions now. But those are the things I've learned so far. Looks like we had some of the same kinds of questions. I hope you won't just accept my word for it or anyone else's for that matter but will find the answers for yourself. Love in Christ and God bless you and your family.
Hi David, Yes... that's right, those aspects of emotional trauma are so important to remember and truly validate my feelings and stages of grief. That can also be an aspect of PTSD. You're right. It was unexpected. I thought he needed time to himself, so I respected that fully, then he just gave up and said "I can't go on". He's not a quitter, so I didn't expect for him to give up like that. I was certainly unprepared. I was hurting and praying, but totally unprepared. I say that I wish I could get angry at him or dislike him, so it could help me get over him and the grieving process, part of the whole "shock, denial, anger, bargaining, acceptance" grieving model. Yes, thank you Lord for knowing how much we can handle and giving us trauma to make us more like His son. Thanks for the encouragement and prayers!!!! Helena
