this was an awesome post. I would have said the same thing. A big, fat "NO!' but now with healing and starting to get a taste of real love, I say yeah. My favorite part is that I don't have to settle for "moldy" food. Or really broken relationships.…

I've been there done that. Still have fears. As I get good stuff in me, they disapate. If your family of origin felt bad enough to want to run away, like mine did, then you still have a lot of old critical tapes running around in your head. Talking…

It's cool if your a leader you don't have to struggle alone anymore. In the past you might have had to guess and feel your way around, but Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend have resources for leaders, that are biblically based. http://www.cloudtownsend.co

I know what you mean. I struggle with balancing practical planning with not having anxiety about things working out. Knowing that God gives me the grace when I need it helps alot. Along with being able to talk to friends,

Dan the man with the plan

Dan the man with a plan

I saw in my little civilization video that I forgot to include Dan. What God was gifting him with.

Genesis 49:16-18- Dan- counselor, wisdom. Snake singifies strategy, wisdom intellect.

Wisdom is good, (Jesus commends the wicked manager for thinking ahead because his kids aren't very wise sometimes.Luke 16:1-15) But intellect alone is nada. Because you need to be a worshiper and worship God alone (not the intellect). Dan is gifted with wisdom but waits on the Lord for h… Continue

Leadership

The Bible is full of blueprints, I found one in the OT for basic leadership- the differnce between what Godly, Christ-like leadership looks like, and what sinful, domination looks like.

Btw for the people who are skeptical there is a creator, there's been a 150 years of scientific research going on since Darwin has been around, and instead of disproving the Bible and the Creation theory, it points to it. Lee Strobel has complied a lot of good information the scientific data that has been found… Continue

Luke 3:1-14 Repentance and Change

Sermon on Luke 3:1-14

http://www.marshillchurch.org/media/luke/repentance-and-baptism

Repentance-

God loves us and has always loved us. We sin because of the state we inherited from our first parents, Adam and Eve. So we run away from God and try to hide in the darkness because we know we have done evil and are ashamed.

God in His gracious love, comes and persues us and we respond to that love and allow Him in.

Be… Continue

Luke 2:41-52

Luke 2:41-52 Real growth newlife.

Jesus was having his barmivah back then. Which is one of the reason's Luke mentions it. Since he was writing about Jesus'. he included it. It says a lot about Jesus' childhood. He had a normal Jewish upbringing.

There's a lot of guessing that goes on about Jesus' childhood. But you can find out what the first 30 years were like for Him in the OT. Where Jesus put together the church, and the family and the traditions that he instituted to teach people about Him… Continue

The rules

I went to a 12 step group, in the area I'm hoping to move to. Well one close to it any way. Trying to line up my ducks and get all the stuff close together so it's not too far to go to stuff.

Al-anon. Man that was awesome. I could have gone to an AA meeting but its a little differnt flavor at a co-da meeting from a AA meeting. Both need the groups but enablers have a little differnce focus. You feel guilty and take on the bad, trying to control it and judge the addict. Where as the addict tends… Continue

Hi Gem,

Wanted to let you know I enjoy reading your blog posts.
You seem like an honest person. And I'm sorry bout the struggles you have.
I can identify with the things you write. Think I kind of know how you must feel at times.
So, you're not alone. And thanks for writing what you write. I pray you'll keep growing in your walk with Jesus and also that you'll be able to receive every bit of comfort He has for you.
God bless...
Suz.

I am really excited about this church for the same reasons you like yours, looks like. Lots of older people to learn from, and good Bible scholars. I've been in church so long that I was beginning to hear the same things all the time. But at this church, they are covering sections of the Bible I haven't read in a long time or not at all. So it's good to be learning something new. Also, I hope to learn more about relationships too from the long-married crowd. Glad you are doing well. Things are better for me too. Love, Sheri

I went to church with my friend today. I loved the people. I checked out their Web site and their beliefs line up well with mine. I'm looking forward to joining their singing group this week, too. So things are going well. Hope things are good with you too. Love, Sheri

Hi, Gem,
I looked up avoidant personality disorder. Thanks for calling it to my attention. Those are some of the things I've struggled with over the years, but not to the extent to have it interferes greatly with my daily. It was useful to have the information, because it lets me know I'm not alone. Other people must be that way too or they wouldn't have a whole disorder named after it. I also felt encouraged because I can see that I'm making progress. I believe God made our minds as well as our bodies to heal themselves, but sometimes we need doctors for that too. Oh, well. It's good stuff to know anyway. Thanks, again. Love, Sheri

"How do you look at your comments when someone gives you one?" I guess when go to the community site, usually it recognizes your computer so you don't have to sign in..not always but most of the time and once on, go to "my page" at the top and cleck there and you can find them on the comment wall! Over to the LEFT side of the screen you can see where it says "Send a Message". I think that is the one where it goes to your "in box" that you find on the right close to the top. Those are the ones that are private and don't end up on "the wall" for all to see! WHEW! I'm out of breath!
