Isaiah 61:1-7 NIV

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners, [a]
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
5 Aliens will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6 And you will be called priests of the LORD,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.
7 Instead of their shame
my people will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
they will rejoice in their inheritance;
and so they will inherit a double portion in their land,
and everlasting joy will be theirs.
What is a Metropolitan Countrygirl, you ask? It is a girl who was born and raised in San Diego until her parents moved to Georgia when she was 15. She had a lot of trouble adjusting but she met her mate and all was well. She lived in a small town and Georgiapeach is who she was for 26 years. Then her husband died. She ran to Iowa from the memories and ended up in a tiny town in a house in the middle of a corn field. She fell deeply in love with the country. She recently moved to Loveland Colorado. She found she loved the city but loved the country, too. Such conflicting emotions brought forth the Metropolitan Countrygirl!!!

Hi Lisa, I'm a fellow Coloradoan, wondering if you went to the new life weekend last week, and if so, is it as great as it sounds like it would be?
Thanks and God bless,
Derek

You are such a strong woman. I hope your family comes together for the holiday. My boys will be with their dad this year. We have been divorced for a little over a year. It is hard when you are not with your children, but I will focus on other things on Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning.

Please accept my regards in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ who opens His door for His people.

I am Bishop Yousaf Sohail from Lahore Pakistan. I am serving the Lord in Islamic Republic Pakistan in a local church named “Assembly of Believers”. As you already know that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is not a soft field for win the souls for Christ. We are not afraid of any circumstances and serving the Lord Jesus Christ according to my vision. I want your comments on my vision. I hope that you will guide/share the plane and aim of God in Pakistan.
My vision is as, “A night when I was pastor and I started the work of heavenly Father on 11.11.2001 God showed me a vision along with others believers “While we were thinking and praying for our on homeland (Pakistan) we were only seven person. We started to consider with one unity one accord about the God’s work in Pakistan and were praying to God to show us the heavenly vision and questioning that what should we do? What kind of the work we should start and what will be our future vision? While we all were sleeping at the night on 6th – 7th November 2001. At 3.00 to 4.00AM God showed us the same vision to all the seven believers. We all saw the dry land there were many small plants with different colors. God showed us water-well and a rob with empty bucket. We all seven believers heard the voice that some one saying! Hold the bucket and start the watering to the all small dry plants. Then we awoke up in different places and homes. We gathered in one place to think and taken a new step of faith. (Where there is no vision, People perish “ Proverb:29/18). In the very first day of this vision we planed to start the pioneer work with the strong foundation. We seven persons decided to serve the Lord in one accord and one unity for the establishment of the Kingdom of God in Pakistan. We all prayed and organized a fellowship, which is called the “Assembly of Believer”. This church has been started on 11th November 2001. We have the same vision seeing person who are called the key leaders, church planters and the same are the still serving the Lord in our fellowship, in spite of all the tragedies, difficulties, …… and problems they are not dismayed. They are all faithful, hard working and soul-winning leader till this day.
I am waiting for your comments/reply for my guidance.

Yours in Christ.

Lisa,

Thanks so much for sharing your favorite scripture. It is uplifting for me to read. I would be interested to know what draws you so much to this scripture. My life feels like it is resembling the life of Job right now. Despite everything going on, I am lead to do for others, and share the goodness of God, and Christ with those around me. Amazing things have been happening in my work place. When we stand in him, God is glorified. Despite my circumstances, the scripture you share is encouraging that God will take care of me as I am faithful to him in bringing good to others. Thanks again, and God bless you as you follow him in faith and trust. I will pray for you that God will lift you up and work in the things in your life where you are in need. Do as he calls you and trust him in the rest.
