OUR DEEPEST FEAR
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and famous? Actually who are we not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; its in everyone. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates other.

- Marianne Williamson

2 Corinthians 4: 17-18

For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever. So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Baptized

A week ago from today, I proclaimed/dedicated my life to Christ. All week long, I continued to feel my renewal. Work transformed. I found myself enjoying what I do, concentrating better which in turn I was able to get more accomplished, and I loved the people around me. At night, I was able to find myself in the moment, reading the word, praying, and being with friends. All week, I prayed about my next step. That next step was my baptism today. My friends from CR were with me as well as some oth… Continue

My renewal

This weekend, I attended a women's encounter. Throughout this encounter, I was able to focus on the word of God, be renewed in His spirit, and from my heart I accepted Christ in my life. I was standing in service and the pastor made an alter call. I was being filled with the Holy Spirit all weekend. But truly felt God's presence when the pastor made that alter call. I felt a hand on my back and that little push to go up. While I rededicated my faith, I couldn't stand. I felt my legs tremble unde… Continue

Questions I have

What do I do? Where do I go? What am I doing wrong and what else can I do? I'm fighting my battle, my battle of severe depression. I've had trials before and have been depressed multiple times. But nothing has felt like this. Why do I have to fight every second and minute of the day? Why are some of the most simplest things so hard to do? I'm trying, but feeling that my trying is not enough. What more can I do? I wake up early to read and study God's word and close my day with a personal reflect… Continue

What am I called to do?

For those of you who don't know me, I work as a pediatric occupational therapist. The majority of the children I see have diagnoses that range from autism, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, to neurological. I work 40 hours a week, in the office. There is the key phrase, in the office. After work, I come home to eat, take care of my dogs daily needs, and plop myself in front of the computer to continue to do more work. That "more" work involves researching various treatment techniques or diagn… Continue

One Year Anniversary

Part of me feels funny to write about this. But if you are an animal lover, you will understand. This last week, I found myself having a hard time, severely depressed. I found myself of thinking about a year ago. Not to far away, is my dog's one year anniversary of her passing a way. She was a daushund, named Pixie Rose. I remember the days that led to her passing like it was just yesterday. I woke up to her on the couch. She always slept beside me. She wasn't asking to go outside to go potty or… Continue
