The economy has taken its toll on everyone, in MA the unemployment rate is nearly as high as the National average. I keep hearing people say getting a job these days is about "who you know" well if there is any truth to that the God can connect you will the poeple who have the jobs. I have registered with over 10 different staffing agencies, and after one agency no longer wanted to work with me I had two more temp assignments with two other companies. I am now on a 3 month assignment making $17/…

I'm not sure what group is best to join for this. I'm not overweight. I'm not anorexic. I'm not bulimic. I'm just someone who needs to change the way she eats because her physical body feels the effects. I'm tired. I have little sex drive. My stomach is uncomfortable nearly all the time (no pain usually, just uncomfortable), which in turn makes me crabby. Despite what the doctor said, I really don't believe I have IBS (which I think has become a catch all for any stomach issues they can't figure…

Sometimes even believers doubt that the Lord wants to bless us in every situation and circumstance. They start to experiment with disobedience. Before long, they have walked away from God. Like the story of the prodigal son shows us what can happen when Christians rebel against the Lord's will. (Luke :11-16) The lord has given each of us limmited free will. That means you and I have the ability to rebel against his purpose for our lives. In response God may put pressure on us, allow bad things t…

Caught once again in life's great race
I find myself upon my face,
Once more asking for Your grace;
Afraid to look into Your face.
I wish I could see You smiling.
Your touch puts all my fears to rest;
My head is peaceful on Your chest.
No worries for tomorrow's tests--
My sleep is sweet, my dreams are blessed.
I sense You gently smiling.
Your breathe puts courage in my heart;
Creating me---Your work of art.
Your wisdom makes my knowledge smart
To make this day a brand new start.
I feel my Dadd…

Satan fools us by appealing to our flesh and soul and promising life but he only gives us death. Have you seen the commerical for the movie which a "struggling family is promised 1 million dollars but someone will die and they decided to take the money anyway but run like mad to save themselves and their lives....so much for enjoying the money. Thank God, God is true, faithful and loving and came to give life and life more abundantly if we only trust, believe and commit to his will and his way.

Thank you all for your love and prayers.
Dennis passed away this morning. He was so sick he just couldn't come back. He needed to go.
I will miss him. And I am hanging onto Jesus.

Here's the sermon for Luke 1:57-80
http://www.marshillchurch.org/media/luke/the-birth-of-john-the-baptizer
As you can see the growth process is really important. For young men to turn out right they need that structure and support system. It doesn't happen by accident. If it did, a lot more young men would be successful in their carrers and relationships.
All through the bible it says teach your children the…

This is one of the best article's I have seen written about halloween. It addresses some issues that I was never quite able to verbalize but thought about. Like parents teaching what is good and acceptable, God's will. And how you have to be differnt from culture sometimes. And parents being leaders for their children. I also love the tone. How he gets you to think rather than just give you the answer.
Just giving kids a bunch of stuff to memorize doesn't really teach them how to worship with t…

One of the things I love about Luke is the songs you find in it. Luke was a doctor and an intellectual.
Well through out the bible, when people have a really good relationship with God and are in communion with Him, they sing, and express thier joy.
I know I sure didn't expect to find it. I thought, cool, I'll get some stuff resolved, maybe feel close, have a nice life, get a few nice things, have some friends. I never in my wildest dreams expected to find the joy I have started to experiance…

Do I have kind words
For my enemy
When the largest foe I fight
Is inside of me?
Can I speak kindly to the chaos
Leaping boldly to persecute
My dreams?
Will I slip into oblivion,
Unable to live--
Falling to my demons?
Dare I attempt to reconcile
This woman--this child--
Or perhaps destroy them both?
Can I find my courage,
Step past the false assumptions
That I mistook as truth?
Can I speak the words;
Salvage tattered dreams;
Bring lasting peace to my soul?
Do I have kind words
For my enemy?

(Sorry for the bad format, I tried using the link button but the links didn't show and then tried to take it off and I got the wierdness you see below. heh. )
Islam is one of the few religions that is agressive about converting people. They are not above making people convert to their religion. Unfortunately, most of the persecution that still goes on in the world today is done by muslums.
They have been trying to pass a resolution that would make it illegal to preach the gospel…

I'm going to be going through the book of Luke. If you want to join in your welcome.
There's a lot of good stuff I learned about Jesus a nd the bible and Christian doctrine. And a lot of great things I have learned from New life and the counselors who teach us here.
The thing is I don't always get everything I need from Church, and the ministry here at New life helps make up the differnce on the application side.
So I will be putting the pieces together as I go along. Listening to the sermon…

I don't want to forgive my dad, I don't. (Insert foot stomping here. heh.) I do but I don't. Not forgiving makes me feel safe. Or so I think. I don't want to go back and be hurt.
But I guess that's the whole point of grieving, so I wont need him and open my heart up to him. I guess I need to have a big funeral or something. Not a literal one, but a time of morning. The guy I want to exhist or part of me hopes exhist doesn't. And the guy that is really there, the guy that tried to do right by me…

Man, when Jesus talks about being a servant, considering who he was gets me. (coninuing off the (real Jesus) post.
And then He digs the knife in deeper and says, "come to me all that are heavy laden and I will give you rest." (Matt 11:28)
Jesus wants to know what's on my mind. He listens. All that stuff I carry around in my heart and mind that weighs heavily, he wants me to share it with Him. Not just keep it inside. He really wants to know.
Or when Jesus is talking to Peter about going back…

Greetings!!!!
I pray you are all well and that peace and understanding is coming from Him.
"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus says this a few tims throughout the Bible....
Mark 10 is one example, which I will share here...
Mark 10: 46-52
Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus
New Living Translation
46 Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. 47…

Btw The real Jesus looked something like this

He didn't have blonde, feathered hair with jerry curl in it, And he didn't look european. And I'm pretty sure he didn't have a floating halo over his head.
Since we didn't have photos back then, the closest you can get…

Sometimes when I am all alone
I dream Your glory fills my soul.
I dare to dream You hold my heart,
Restored and truly whole.
Held safe within Your loving arms
I sleep in perfect peace.
No longer bound by others' constraints,
My vision You increase.
I'm learning I can trust Your love.
I find acceptance on Your face.
With childish abandon I dare to leap
Into Your amazing grace.
