The loss of a spouse is very hard. But added to all that is the paperwork that has to be done before you can get an insurance and that means you need a Death Certificate that takes a couple of weeks. Then there is the payments that you will no longer be able to make, dealing with things you didn't know about then having to clean up something new that catches you completely off guard.
Oh Lord, I need help. There are times when I am completely lost and can't get started again. Then there are time…

Thanks for everyone for praying for me and the guy I was dealing with that was a real piece of work. Ugg. He's like 40 something but he hides it well because He hasn't worked through all his past stuff.
The last week was hell but by God's grace He's been healing some of the stuff in me and helping me get "big" heh.
My friend who I was talking to I said I needed to pray to have love for him in my heart. (not romantic, God's love) which was true, but God's love, mature love has grace and truth.…

Sermon on Luke 2:8-17
http://www.marshillchurch.org/media/luke/christ-the-lord
I love the story at the end because it shows God working through all of His delivery system. Some people think that God is only at church or the Pastor is the only man on God's team but that's not true. God has created a huge delivery system to care for us and meet our needs.
Both this lady and her now husband came to Christ, because they went t…

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.
When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war.. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.
About a month later, just before Christmas,
There was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a l…

2nd part from a newsletter by Milan & Kay Yerkovitch about their book "How We Love". The setting is a couple attending their workshop on stage in front of 150 people. They were not actors, but real people trying to work through a problem in their marriage.
Michael: "So what bugs you the most about me?"
Carol: "You are unaware of me and unavailable to me. It more than "bugs" me ...it infuriates me."
Becoming nervous at the Carole's intensity, Michael flashed a panicky look at me and I said…

For those who don't know, I was in a severe car accident on Friday at approx. 8:30 AM. I walked away from what should have been a fatal crash. I was on my way home from working at FedEx. I was a bit sleepy and ran off the road and hit a mailbox then overcompensated and hydroplaned across into the other lane and back into mine and then flew off the road into a patch of small trees and flipped over into a ditch. I shouldn't be alive today, but as far as I know, I only have a couple bruises. I am g…

I stand in AWE of God’s mercy and grace!!
This morning, I went back to Church. I hadn’t been in years because of my husband. When I arrived, I had a hard time fighting back the tears. As I entered the Sanctuary, a lady I had barely known way back then, grabbed me and just took me under her arm. As I shared all I had been through, she had so many encouraging things to share.
The message was supposed to have been in the book of John. But as my Pastor started in, this wasn’t going to be a “usual”…

2012 is a new movie coming out. I was going to make a comment because I know it will freak the newbie Christians, immature Christians and Christians who haven't been putting in the work studying the bible and getting in a group at church. Along with those already in bomb shelters waiting for the rapture to happen and rescue them from every day life.

Luke 2:1-7 New Life
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. (Mathew 5:8) Or those with an intact life, not shattered or compartmentalized. One whole, pure. Integrity.
It's soo cool, I was just thinking that Luke was a man of integrity. Luke didn't have any secret addictions like wine or women in his life, he was a man of integrity. He didn't compartmentalize things and wrestled with issues in his life. And God graciously showed Him his hand, or the Spirit at work, sort of like on…

It sounds like a horrible title doesn't it? Like I'm about to blast men or something huh? lol.
Actually quite the opposite. Help put them where God put them in His order and design.
Pastor Driscoll did a sermon on putting pastors in their place so I was going to something about putting men in the proper place that God put them.
Notes from his sermon.

I'm stuck in bed for maybe 3 months due to a recent surgery, well mostly in bed, I can get up and around on crutches but I'm used to a pretty active lifestyle and physically hard work. I have a choice, I can dwell on the fact that I can't do much for myself and have to depend on my wife and others for mostly everything, (pray for my wife!) or I can dwell on what I do have. Praise God it's the era of the internet! I have a lot more options today than in other eras. Praise God for good pain killer…

I was comforted today during my reading of Psl 104. I was singing an old song from the 80's before I opened my bible, hadn't sung it in years and there it was in the scripture I'd just opened to, was that a coincidence? Or do I serve a sovereign God? God owns my moments and hours and days and years, he owns my pain and pleasure, my sorrow and joy, my grief and happiness He owns the souls of my loved ones and the big picture is not about me but about Him. I take comfort in the knowledge that I am…

The biggest thing I am doing now, thanks to the help from Milan's book is really see my hurts and needs and what my dad's broken behavior did for me. IT seems when people talk about the healing thing, its "either" "or" empasize with the abuser or yourself. both need to happen. I need to understand where he came from and how he got there, and see the damage in me and what his brokeness has done to me. Both.
That's what I am really working on. IN my family the enabliers get taught to push thier n…

Like I said, the most gut wrenching thing about having to process this is the fact that it will have to be a surfacy relationship instead of a deep intament, healthy one one could have with their dad.
My dad is too broken and twisted to be able to connect in a healthy way. Like trying to build on wood that's dry rotted.
Jesus had to go through an experiance like that, In Jerusalem Jesus just broke down crying because he wouldn't be able to connect with the ones he loved either. (Mathew 23:37,…

The economy has taken its toll on everyone, in MA the unemployment rate is nearly as high as the National average. I keep hearing people say getting a job these days is about "who you know" well if there is any truth to that the God can connect you will the poeple who have the jobs. I have registered with over 10 different staffing agencies, and after one agency no longer wanted to work with me I had two more temp assignments with two other companies. I am now on a 3 month assignment making $17/…

I'm not sure what group is best to join for this. I'm not overweight. I'm not anorexic. I'm not bulimic. I'm just someone who needs to change the way she eats because her physical body feels the effects. I'm tired. I have little sex drive. My stomach is uncomfortable nearly all the time (no pain usually, just uncomfortable), which in turn makes me crabby. Despite what the doctor said, I really don't believe I have IBS (which I think has become a catch all for any stomach issues they can't figure…

Sometimes even believers doubt that the Lord wants to bless us in every situation and circumstance. They start to experiment with disobedience. Before long, they have walked away from God. Like the story of the prodigal son shows us what can happen when Christians rebel against the Lord's will. (Luke :11-16) The lord has given each of us limmited free will. That means you and I have the ability to rebel against his purpose for our lives. In response God may put pressure on us, allow bad things t…

Caught once again in life's great race
I find myself upon my face,
Once more asking for Your grace;
Afraid to look into Your face.
I wish I could see You smiling.
Your touch puts all my fears to rest;
My head is peaceful on Your chest.
No worries for tomorrow's tests--
My sleep is sweet, my dreams are blessed.
I sense You gently smiling.
Your breathe puts courage in my heart;
Creating me---Your work of art.
Your wisdom makes my knowledge smart
To make this day a brand new start.
I feel my Dadd…

Satan fools us by appealing to our flesh and soul and promising life but he only gives us death. Have you seen the commerical for the movie which a "struggling family is promised 1 million dollars but someone will die and they decided to take the money anyway but run like mad to save themselves and their lives....so much for enjoying the money. Thank God, God is true, faithful and loving and came to give life and life more abundantly if we only trust, believe and commit to his will and his way.
