Loving My Enemy

Do I have kind words
For my enemy
When the largest foe I fight
Is inside of me?
Can I speak kindly to the chaos
Leaping boldly to persecute
My dreams?
Will I slip into oblivion,
Unable to live--
Falling to my demons?
Dare I attempt to reconcile
This woman--this child--
Or perhaps destroy them both?
Can I find my courage,
Step past the false assumptions
That I mistook as truth?
Can I speak the words;
Salvage tattered dreams;
Bring lasting peace to my soul?
Do I have kind words
For my enemy?

I'm reading the book, "9 Things You Simply Must Do." One of the principles is that we shouldn't play fair because it messes up our relationships. When we only give back what we are given, then the first time we mess up or the other person does, then it causes trouble. Our goal needs to be to give more than we are given. If both partners do that then there's always a good supply of positive stuff to compete with the occasional negative stuff.

I know, I do too Sheri. I feel that way too sometimes. Like i'm being stupid for praying for someone who doesn't wish me well. And I'm going to just get run over. The nice thing is that with boundaries, I can help put limits on the sin that is coming my way and learning about true forgiveness allows me to be free and helps me not get bitter, with all my bandwith taken up on holding what they did in my mind and heart. Jesus the great debt collector will repay.

Part of me just feels really dumb when I try to love my enemies and pray for them. I feel like I'm somehow rewarding them for mistreating me. It seems like when I do this, they just walk all over me. I have to resist them to make them leave me alone. I have a lot of trouble understanding this concept. I must be doing something wrong.

would you have kind words for yourself? would you could you give up your worldly dreams to live for your King? can you step past your fears to seek His truth? is not your biggest enemy yourself? Is not this process only done through the Spirit, who you receive after baptisim? I say yes...Lord, yes...only in Jesus...Thank you...again One praise God ..in Jesus's name..Amen

When the largest foe I fight- we all fight a foe....
Is inside of me? we all have things inside we struggle with...
Can I speak kindly to the chaos- life cna be filled with chaos at times...and times of peace...
Leaping boldly to persecute ...why do we perecute?
My dreams? we all need dreams to love for.....
Will I slip into oblivion, we have slips and falls.....
Unable to live-- we fill unable to live but the truth is God is with us in a darkness
Falling to my demons? we all fall to Demons at times and take the hand of Angels.
Dare I attempt to reconcile we all need to reconcile at times...and some times we cant....
This woman--this child-- man or woman can be a child inside...that need to grow up..
Or perhaps destroy them both? we need to become what God wants us be.. it's takes work..
Can I find my courage, we need to find the courage to keep the faith walk the walk...
Step past the false assumptions- we need new thinking all the time...
That I mistook as truth? We need to find truth behind the lies.....
Can I speak the words; Speak the words of truth....
Salvage tattered dreams; some dreams get tattered some dreams fly.....
Bring lasting peace to my soul? Lasting peace comes from above,.,,,
Do I have kind words We have kind words for our ememy that come from what Jesus did on the cross
For my enemy? love one anorther as I have loved you.. love your enemy...Do good to those who hurt you..only in Jesus can we do this....only in him...
