The last couple of weeks have been very special at our house. Our oldest son, who came home from Iraq last month, and his wife have been visiting. With them, they brought a very special person. His name is Kayden, he is 5 months old, and he is our first grandchild.
His is the power to make this Gramma go from sewing or chores or sadness to laughing and playing and holding him in about 0 to 3 seconds.
The last several days have been pretty rough for me emotionally, and I got to thinking about when I was playing peekaboo with Kayden. I wondered what it would be like if God played with me. And here enters my wonderful imagination. I really don’t have any scriptures to share, only that I have read so many about how much God love me and wants good for me, and desires to for me to know Him.
I turned my pen loose, and here is what happened:
Peekaboo! I see you!
Behind the hands that cover your face
I will shine My mercy and grace.
I’ll pick you up and tickle your chin
Until your laughter is unrestrained again.
I’ll hold you tight and spin you around;
You’ll rest in the peace of being found.
Peekaboo! I see you!
Behind the fear that no one else sees
I’ll shine healing and you’ll be free.
“That’s my girl,” I’ll pick you up and declare
Until your chains of bondage are no longer there.
I’ll hold you safely while you quit shaking;
You’ll rest in the joy of My gentle re-making.
Peekaboo! I see you!
Behind hands that hide your impish grin
I will bring new life that you’ve asked to begin.
I’ll hold you close and show you My face
Until your heart sings with acceptance and grace.
In the arms of My love I will sing you My song
Of rejoicing; You’ll know that you truly belong.
